Feast of St. Agnes Lamb Craft and Prayer Card (Printable)

Since the Feast of St. Agnes is just a few days away, (even though our family will not be honoring the virgin martyr until Saturday, January 21), I thought I would share our planned craft in hopes that it would benefit all of you.

Throughout much of history and art, St. Agnes has often been depicted cradling a lamb in her arms since her name resembles the Latin word for lamb, “agnus” and to also hint as to the method in which she was martyred.

Exploiting this customary illustration, I set out to create a lamb template and prayer card for my little ones to each craft their very own St. Agnes’ Lamb Prayer Card Holder.

Isn’t it adorable?

I fist saw this Family Fun craft over at Catholic Icing, but thought that a template would be much easier for my toddler son, and that it would be a help to all of your Domestic Churches.

So, here you go:

Free to print with a short biography and assembly instructions, just add glue, cotton balls and a couple of clothes pins.

Now you are all set to honor this great saint by crafting your very own St. Agnes’ Lamb Prayer Card Holder just in time for Saturday!
