The Feast of St. Juan Diego

While the feasts of St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe go hand in hand, and are only a few days apart, our family tries our best to honor both of these beloved feast days separately.

Today, with a Little Flowers meeting this afternoon and a Gingerbread House making party this evening, we were only able to begin our celebration a little this morning before heading out the door. Even so, here is a little glimpse into what was awaiting the children at the breakfast table:

a lovely St. Juan Diego paper doll from Paper Dali, (complete with roses to fall out of the tilma!), a few prayer cards depicting Our Lady of Guadalupe and A Child’s First Catholic Dictionary opened to the appropriate page. (We are saving Tomie De Paola The Lady of Guadalupe from our Advent Book Basket for Monday!)

I’ll be back later to share with you more of our celebrations!
