Baptismal Remembrance

With warm water, blessed by priestly hands, and chrism oil crossed, the candles were lighted.

She was baptized.

We chose that day for remembrance, for it fell on the first year you were able to celebrate being a father, and it was the first birthday after I became a mother.

Yesterday, Trinity Sunday, when we celebrated all that is you, and all that they have caused you to become, I recalled how, marked on this day, with each passing year we are able to celebrate and reflect on this marvelous road.

How, like the Son, they too have been begotten and not made — for there could not be one without the other two.

And to think… all started because two people fell in love.
