We Gather Together

All Saint’s Day is awaited every year by my little guys. Our homeschool group really knows how to have a good time on this feast day. They go all out, trying to squeeze every ounce of fun into the day.

This year, we celebrated mass in the living room of the host family, ( Thanks Sylvester family! ),  surrounded by a litany of saints.

Let me just say, if you have never had the good fortune of attending a home mass before, it is definitely an awe-inspiring experience. You can’t help but think that this is what the early church was like– people gathered together in someone’s home to praise and worship. Amen.

And then the festivities begin!

Little saints flutter around with glee and ingest more candy then legally allowed.

Homemade saint costumes are eventually shed throughout the day, as friends run, shout, and play.

And this is what it is all about.

These friendships. These memories. This communion of saints that gather together to sing the Lord’s praises.
